Position now closed - thank you for your applications!

Hey, Alex from _Futurephonic here. This summer, we're launching a major update to our cutting-edge software flagship and, for the first time, I'm bringing in someone to run the operational side.

I'm the artist geek who gets the products and creative made - you're the organisation nerd who makes sure everything around it happens. Together we keep the whole thing looking and sounding sharp.

Who we are

Futurephonic is my Berlin-based music technology company with 13 years in the electronic music production space, with a loyal user base. I run the company myself, supported by a small network of collaborators.

We're known in the scene for our attention to detail and uncompromising standards. The entire goal: two minutes into using any of our tools, our customer has a huge grin across their face. Inspired to make something special. Every time.

Rhythmizer has helped us reach beyond our Psytrance origins, and our community now spans Techno, Drum & Bass, Ambient and beyond. I'll be looking for someone who feels at home anywhere in electronic music.

The role, in a nutshell

Six-month fixed-term operational and outreach coordinator to help execute and sustain a major product launch. Option to extend if things go well. Part-time.

Applications close May 8th.

Term

Mid-June 2026 - December 2026

What you'd be doing

Operations and overview (the core of the role)

Keeping our moving parts connected will be essential while I go deep in my creative lab. You will:

  • Maintain a shared project tracking system (kanban or equivalent)
  • Hold the overview: what's next, what's stuck, what's waiting on me, what's waiting on others
  • Periodic check-ins with the team
  • Keep us ahead of deadlines, not chasing them

Outreach and promotion

We’ve had high profile reviews and partnerships, but I tend to get stuck on the nerdy details of product-making rather than follow up with industry links. You will:

  • Research and build target lists: press, podcasts, YouTubers, affiliate partners, potential collaborators
  • Draft and send outreach emails
  • Find opportunities I wouldn't find myself - reviews, interviews, features, partnerships

Content coordination

I’m making clips alongside a content creator. You’ll be posting them.

  • Post content to social channels from a shared calendar with on-brand captions
  • Coordinate with a clip freelancer (who cuts short videos from our archive) and a content creator (a producer making fresh Rhythmizer reels)
  • You don't make the content, you make sure it gets posted, on time, with the right voice

Who we're looking for

Non-negotiables

  • Strong written English, adaptive email tone. You’ll be liaising with both big companies and busy artists who write one-liners
  • Brand aesthetics are critical to us, and you’ve got a strong eye for quality and tone
  • Organisational instinct - you're all about systems, tracking, structure. A messy kanban bothers you.
  • Proactive communication - you'll drive our standups, and you tell me what's stuck before I ask
  • Initiative - you bring ideas and suggestions to the table

Strong preferences

  • A decent understanding of the electronic music world - you don't need to be a producer, but you should know the difference between Proggy House and Breakcore.
  • Digital-friendly. You'll be working with online tools, social platforms, project management software

Where / When

  • Remote work - timezone compatible with CET
  • Approx 12-15 hours/week, flexible scheduling
  • All work coordinated through a shared system that you maintain
  • Two short calls per work session: opening briefing (what's the plan) and closing debrief (what happened)

Compensation

You'll be paid on a monthly retainer. Starting range €800-1,200/month depending on experience, reviewed at three months. This is a part-time freelance engagement on an invoice basis.

Term and extension

This is a fixed six-month term: July-Dec 2026. If Rhythmizer is performing well and we're working well together, there's potential to extend and expand the role. But this is offered as a six-month engagement with no obligations beyond that on either side.

Our Values

AI Policy

We keep up to date with AI tools, so we can work with efficiency and pace, and you’ll know your way around an LLM. In an online space increasingly dominated by slop, however, we continue to edit by hand and we make or source images and video. We take a strong anti-AI music stance.

Company values

I have always run Futurephonic by my own principles. We’re pro-art, pro-artist and uncompromising on quality. I work with people who share a basic respect for human dignity - regardless of background, gender, sexuality, or ethnicity.

How to apply

No CV needed, just send a short email. If you'd prefer to introduce yourself by video, include a link. Tell me:

  1. Who you are and why this interests you
  2. What experience you have that's relevant (doesn't need to be in music tech)
  3. One example of a time you kept something on track that would have fallen apart without you

Look forward to hearing from you!
